U23 National Baseball Team in action at E.C. 24-28 August 2021
Will the young Red Hawks win triple bronze – or more – at the U23 European Baseball Championship in Italy this week?
The 2021 European Baseball Championship for U23 will be held in Italy from Tuesday 24 till Saturday 28 August in San Martino and beautiful Verona. Our young Red Hawks will not notice much of the surroundings as they have to plunge in the deep right away. Expectations are high and the opposition in the group stage is huge but does not seem insurmountable.
Belgium plays in Group B together with The Netherlands, Ukraine and Germany, who finished second in 2019.
Group A consists of reigning European Champion Czech Republic, powerhouse Italy, France and Great Britain.
The young Red Hawks will do everything in their power to reach the podium for a third time after bronze in 2017 and bronze in 2019, with perhaps even more in the offing. So there lies a heavy task on the shoulders of this renewed team, but the reward is great! Players and coaching staff – led by Kevin Knollenburg – have every confidence in it.
Belgium will immediately start the battle-der-lage-landen in Verona on Tuesday 24th of August and will meet The Netherlands at 15:30 PM. All games can be followed live via the YouTube channels of the WBSC or via the Live Scoring platform.
