Back to back BRONZE!
Our National U23 Baseball Team has won bronze at the European U23 Baseball Championship 2019 in Prague. It is the second bronze in a row for the young Red Hawks, who made history in 2017 with their third place in Brno. Belgium convincingly beat a strong France 2-0.
U23 Head Coach Sven Hendrickx – who will coach The Red Hawks seniors in September at the E.C. – has achieved another great result with his coaching staff. The super performances are mainly due to the great collective team efforts of our young Red Hawks. In particular the convincing pitching of Artuur Driessens this week. As well as batting and field performance of short-stop Benjamin Goffaux.
Baseball is on the rise in Belgium, the back-to-back bronze medals underline this once again. With this third place the young Red Hawks assure themselves of a guaranteed start in next E.C.
In the final host country Czech Republic beat Germany 1-4.
