24 – 30 July Belgium to play in Women’s Softball European Championship 2022

Belgian Ladies will battle in Women’s Softball European Championship 2022

The twenty-third Women’s Softball European Championship is set to take place in the Barcelona area of Spain. 
21 National Teams will be divided into 4 pools. These national squads will play almost 100 games to crown the European Champion and qualify for the WBSC World Cup. The medalists, in fact, will take part in the 2023 WBSC World Cup second phase.

Pool A:  Italy, Poland, Croatia, Belgium, and Greece
Pool B:  The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Ireland, and Switzerland 
Pool C:  Czech Republic, France, Ukraine, Great Britain, and Turkiye
Pool D:  Israel, Spain, Slovakia, Denmark, Finland, and Malta

The Championship is set to start on Sunday July 24 and end on Saturday July 30 2022.
The teams will play over four Catalan fields in Sant Boi, Montjuic, Viladecans and Gavà.

Belgium will start off their tournament against Greece, Sunday 24 July at 09:00 in Campo Municipal de Béisbol Can Torelló, Gavá

The top two teams in the four pools will play for the standing in the quarterfinal groups. The 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th teams in each pool will play a single round-robin for the standing in the quarterfinal groups. The finals are programmed for Saturday July 30.  The Bronze Medal game is set to start at 15:45 and the Championship Game at 18:00.

Italy is the defending back-to-back Champion after winning in 2019 in Ostrava, Czech Republic and in 2021 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy.
