Borgerhout Squirrels win the Belgium Cup Baseball 2018.
The Royal Borgerhout Squirrels are having a great season thus far. After winning the CEB Cup earlier this year, our national champions won the Belgium Cup Baseball 2018 this Wednesday 15th of August 2018.
The final was played against the Brasschaat Braves at the fields of Squirrels Baseball and Softball Club. The Squirrels had taken on the task of organizing the Finals and have made a terrific Final Day of it, with a great turnout of exciting fans to go. For this edition the Squirrels proved to be too strong and convincingly won the Final 5-0. In addition to the Belgium Cup, an European Ticket for 2019 was also taken home by the Squirrels.
Squirrels pitcher Kenny Van den Branden was awarded MVP (most valuable player) of the Belgium Cup. Red Hawks player Kenny has already won a lot of prizes and titles and he also continues to set the tone in the national gold league competition as well as in the cup competition. On the 15th of September 2018 our National Team – the Red Hawks – will compete against the Spanish National Team in Brasschaat. Then we’ll be expecting more Top Baseball on home soil as well!
