Five Junior Belgium Baseball Players in selection of Team Europe.
This weekend and early next week no less than five of our best baseball juniors will participate in the MLB European Academies Spring Tournament which will be held from March 30 to April 5 2017 in Sant Boi, Barcelona.
This prestigious Baseball Tournament is organized by Major League Baseball Europe where only players from the European Top Baseball Academies are invited.
In the tournament six top teams from The Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, France and the selected players for Team Europe will participate. It is organized by the MLB where young players (15-18) are given the opportunity to play themselves into the spotlight; in the presence of international Baseball Scouts. For the players it is also a solid preparation for the new baseball and softball season 2017 which starts in two weeks time.
Belgium players who are invited to Team Europe are:
– Janssen Drew, Pitcher
– Joossens Nicolas Pitcher
– Ryelandt Kantaro, Infield
– Rizzi Lucas, Infield
– Gake Geoffrey Outfield
We are very pleased with the participation of our Baseball Academy players. The international experience thus gained by players and coaching staff comes in handy in the preparations for our National U18 and U23 Baseball Teams. Who will respectively take part in the preliminaries and the main tournament of the European Championships Baseball this summer.
